Arda Recorders is a full service music production studio complex located in the heart of Porto, Portugal.

With 7 state-of-the-art studios that feature outstanding acoustics and the best gear in the world, we’re here to help you craft your next record in an inspiring and relaxed creative environment.

In the past couple of years Porto has become one of the best traveling destinations in Europe. The city is safe, friendly and vibrant.

The studio complex is located in an up and coming neighborhood very close to downtown, and there’s several accommodation options available for those traveling from abroad.

The studios

Our flagship Studio A has over 140m2 of recording space.
It features a vintage Neve 8068 console, real echo chamber, a Fazioli F278 grand piano, analog tape recorders and lots of vibe.

Studio B is centered around a 32 channel Rupert Neve Designs 5088 console, has a ton of outboard gear and a super versatile recording space.

In Studio C you’ll find a perfect set up for overdubs, with a generous recording booth and lots of different preamps.

Studio D is our primary stereo and Dolby Atmos mixing room - a studio built from the ground up with the most precise acoustics in mind, which makes it the best room in our facility to do the final quality control of your music.

From medium size orchestras, to rock bands, and  singer-songwriters

 our rooms are great for every project.

And of course, coffee and snacks

are always available to keep the momentum going.

THE ENGINEERS

Arda Recorders was founded by producers and engineers that share the same passion about music recording and great gear. Although we love to host outside engineers, and have a team of incredible assistants to help them feel at home in our rooms, our in-house team (with a combined experience of more than 60 years in the studio!) is also an amazing option for your next record!

Chief Engineer
Joao is the founder of Arda Recorders. As a producer, recording and mixing engineer he has worked with an eclectic bunch of artists, from all kinds of musical genres. His passion for analog recording and willingness to try all sorts of crazy stuff in the studio while focusing on maintaining an organic but characterful approach to engineering make him one of the most charismatic engineers in Portugal. zE nando pimenta

Producer/Engineer
Zé Nando is a producer and engineer who graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston. His professional career began in 1998 in New York City, and in 2001 he moved to Barcelona where he assembled a recording studio and founded the independent record label Meifumado. Being such a talented multi-instrumentalist and because he's comfortable with both electronic urban music and acoustic recordings, Zé Nando has a great focus on the production process. Producer/Engineer
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Carlos has always had a passion for music. A brilliant pianist, he works as a sound engineer and a producer since 1999, when he founded his recording studio Tenda da Raposa. Recently some of his productions have been nominated or awarded with prizes, such as the Grammys, the Latin Grammy or the Independent Music Awards. In 2018, he relocated to Porto to join our team and continue his career as a musician, sound engineer and producer. Find out more about Carlos here.
