Arda Recorders was founded in 2017 by a team of recording engineers and producers. Over a period of 3 years we built an incredible complex from the ground up that houses 7 studios, 4 production rooms, offices and the Fonoteca Municipal do Porto.
We take pride in being flexible and versatile: catering to all genres of music, types of bands, and walks of life. Our team and studios are super adaptable to help you create the best version of your project - no matter how big or small.
THE ENGINEERS
Arda Recorders was founded by producers and engineers that share the same passion about music recording and great gear.
Although we love to host outside engineers, and have a team of incredible assistants to help them feel at home in our rooms, our in-house team (with a combined experience of more than 60 years in the studio!) is also an amazing option for your next record!
Chief Engineer
Joao is the founder of Arda Recorders. As a producer, recording and mixing engineer he has worked with an eclectic bunch of artists, from all kinds of musical genres. His passion for analog recording and willingness to try all sorts of crazy stuff in the studio while focusing on maintaining an organic but characterful approach to engineering make him one of the most charismatic engineers in Portugal. Producer/Engineer
Zé Nando is a producer and engineer who graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston. His professional career began in 1998 in New York City, and in 2001 he moved to Barcelona where he assembled a recording studio and founded the independent record label Meifumado. Being such a talented multi-instrumentalist and because he's comfortable with both electronic urban music and acoustic recordings, Zé Nando has a great focus on the production process. Producer/Engineer
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Carlos has always had a passion for music. A brilliant pianist, he works as a sound engineer and a producer since 1999, when he founded his recording studio Tenda da Raposa. Recently some of his productions have been nominated or awarded with prizes, such as the Grammys, the Latin Grammy or the Independent Music Awards. In 2018, he relocated to Porto to join our team and continue his career as a musician, sound engineer and producer. Find out more about Carlos here.

Arda Suppliers is a team of professional audio engineers who understand that the need for high-end gear pairs up with an outstanding service - and we are ready to deliver both! Established in 2017, we’ve been building long lasting relationships within the audio industry, working exclusively with trusted manufacturers and making sure our clients never have to settle for anything less than the best. Our legacy speaks for itself.
Our offices and logistic facilities are based at Arda Music Hub. The world class studios provide the perfect environment to demo anything you need before buying, just make sure to book an appointment with us beforehand.
Founded by individuals with proven professional and training experience in the audio and music industry, Arda Academy aims to equip its students with the fundamental concepts and practical skills for the world of audio recording and post-production in a studio setting, and the development and application of projects related to curation and programming, event production, and sound editing.
Taking advantage of the Arda Recorders facilities, students have access to the complex's 6 studios for practical classes, and a room dedicated to theoretical training. To support teaching activities, there is a dining and leisure area with direct access to the garden.
